How do I uninstall Documents To Go 7 or 8 from the computer and handheld?

Answer:

To remove Documents To Go from the desktop computer and Palm handheld, please follow the steps below:

Uninstall Documents To Go from the Computer:

When it is uninstalled from the computer, the Documents To Go data will be removed from ALL Palm handheld users. Any documents listed in Documents To Go on the computer (for synchronization to the handheld) will not be affected by this. However, if you reinstall Documents To Go, you will need to re-add those documents to Documents To Go if you want to sync them with your handheld again.

1. Go to Start > Control Panel (or Start > Settings > Control Panel)
2. Open "Add or Remove Programs"
3. Choose Documents To Go on the list of applications and click Remove
4. Click Yes to confirm deletion of Documents To Go

Uninstall Documents To Go from the handheld:

There are two ways to uninstall Documents To Go from the handheld, both of which are described below. We recommend the first method (using the DataViz Tech Tool), because it is easier and faster than the second method (manually deleting each component).

Uninstall by using the DataViz Tech Tool

1. Save the following file to your computer: DataViz Tech Tool download
2. Double-click the file to add it to Palm Quick Install (or the Install Tool)
3. Synchronize with your handheld
4. Open the new "DatavizTech" application on your handheld
5. Tap the button for "Uninstall Documents To Go" (then tap Yes)

Uninstall by manually deleting each component

1. On your handheld, go to the "Home" screen which shows all your applications
2. Tap the upper-left corner of the screen to access the menu
3. Select Delete from the App menu
4. Select "Documents", then tap the Delete button
5. Tap "Yes" when asked if you want to delete the application and all its data
6. Delete the other applications from Documents To Go (you may not have all of them on your handheld):

• DTTFonts
• DXTGAttachmentPlugIn
• English_Am.lex
• GraphicsLibrary

NOTE: If you have moved the Documents To Go applications to an expansion card, you need to check expansion card memory for the applications listed above, and delete them as well.

If Documents To Go is still installed on the desktop computer, the handheld applications can be reinstalled at any time. To reinstall them, simply select the "Re-install Handheld Applications" option from the Tools menu in Documents To Go.
