How do I install Documents To Go 1.0 on my BlackBerry smartphone?
Answer:
The easiest (and recommended) way to install Documents To Go 1.0 is to do so "Over The Air" (OTA) as described below. This method requires an internet connection on the handheld. If an OTA installation is not possible, it can be installed by copying a set of installation files to the BlackBerry from a computer. Both methods of installation are described below.

Over The Air installation (OTA):
To download & install Documents To Go 1.0, follow these steps:
- Open the Browser application on your BlackBerry and go to www.dataviz.com (it should redirect you to www.dataviz.com/handheld).
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "My Software" (or select "Please Log In" and log in with your last name & registration number).
- On the "Your Registered Products" page, find the product you want to download and select the "Click to download software" link.
- On the next page, select the download link and follow the on-screen steps to complete the download & installation.
Alternative installation:
Documents To Go 1.0 can also be installed by downloading a set of files to your desktop computer, then copying them to your BlackBerry using Mass Storage Mode or the Media Manager application. Follow the steps below:
- Download one of the following files, depending on the Device Software version* installed on your BlackBerry:
OS 4.5 or 4.6:
documentstogo1007_ota_os45-46.zip (Save this file to the Desktop)
OS 4.7:
documentstogo1007_ota_os47.zip (Save this file to the Desktop)
* NOTE: "Device Software version" refers to the version of the OS on your phone, NOT the version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your computer. To check the OS version on your BlackBerry, click here for steps.
- Unzip the file to create a folder named "Documents To Go OTA (OS 4.x)".
- Connect your BlackBerry to the computer with a USB cable (if prompted to turn on Mass Storage Mode, choose "Yes").
- Use Mass Storage Mode or Media Manager to copy the entire "Documents To Go OTA (OS 4.x)" folder to a location on your BlackBerry.
- Open the Media application on the BlackBerry, press the Menu key, and choose Explore.
- Browse to and open the "Documents To Go OTA (OS 4.x)" folder, then select "- DocsToGo.jad" (it should be at the top of the list of files).

Select the Download button to start the installation (it will look and act like a download, but will not actually connect to the internet).
After installation, the "Documents To Go OTA (OS 4.x)" folder can be deleted (or saved for backup purposes).
